Take five minutes to watch this presentation about the character of God, why human life is so hard and how it can change for good forever. The guy who put this together, Glen Scrivner, will be coming to St Bart’s Wednesbury on Saturday the 8th June to do some evangelism training. More details to follow at church.

It came to my attention today that a Pakistani mother of 5 has been held in jail in Pakistan since 2010 awaiting the death sentence for blasphemy. The charge relates to her giving the following reason for not converting from Christianity to Islam:
“Our Christ sacrificed His life on the cross for our sins. … Our Christ is alive.”
If hanged, Asia Bibi will be the first Pakistani woman to die under the blasphemy laws.

To date, only 9221 people in the United Kingdom have appealed for mercy in this way.
It might also be possible to write to Asia Bibi directly and to support the campaign for her release through the British Pakistani Christian Association.
