I’ve been using a great Android bible app on my Archos tablet. Daily Bible is free, which is great for a Scotsman, and it combines four apps which make it a must for all Christians.
First, it has a daily verse. Great for a quick meditation and sharable on Twitter and Facebook, so the word cam be spread easily. Second, there’s a bible reading plan, with four chapters a day, presented on one screen. Third, it has podcast devotionals, including recent sermons by John Piper and Rick Warren amoungst others. And finally it has the whole bible, ESV and six other translations, with a play function for the audio version of what’s on the screen. Brilliant.

Our Lent Course this year will focus on the theme of Christian life on the margins of society and what church could look like as we follow Christ as our crucified Saviour and risen Lord in 21st century, muticultural, broken Britain. The course will be held on Thursdays at 1:30pm and 7:30pm in the church hall, starting on 23rd February for seven weeks. We will base the course on the book Everyday Church and copies are available now through Amanda or online.
